A few people have posted some clever, fun comments this week guessing that this cookbook will be filled with junk food - pizza and pop-tarts galore! But the best junk food is not prepared at home, is it? It's take-out, delivery, bought in a box, "heat & serve"...
Which is all decadent & delicious! But we don't need a cookbook for that. We need a drawer full of takeout menus, a toaster & a 7/11 within walking distance.
Which is all decadent & delicious! But we don't need a cookbook for that. We need a drawer full of takeout menus, a toaster & a 7/11 within walking distance.
The purpose of this cookbook is to explore and celebrate the "other" foods found in Stars Hollow. Yes, this includes cheeseburgers - but cheeseburgers you can make at home with real ingredients that taste way better than anything from a drive-thru.
It's also about tantalizing dishes like:
- Salmon Puffs
- Mac & Cheese in a Jalapeno-Chipotle Cream Sauce
- Rocky Road Cookies
- Spaghetti & Meatballs
- S'mores Wedding Cakes
- Magic Risotto
- Paella
- Ratatouille
- Pancakes
- Blueberry Shortcake
- Mushroom Soup
- Zucchini Soup
- Peach Pie
- Monte Cristo Sandwiches
- Four types of pesto
- Pineapple-Mango Chutney
- A Goat-Cheese-Stuffed Pretzel basket
These here....these are the foods I'm talking about, Willis. Real foods, using real ingredients. Foods that both sound & taste really good!
If you're into these foods, then please come aboard - pre-order a book or become a tester or a booster or take the WB tour with me. The Kickstarter campaign is active until April 16 - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kristicarlson/eatlikeagilmore

As a huge Gilmore fan I would love tips on how to make a golf ball cake!!
ReplyDeleteI worked a kitchen in Woodridge, IL which utilized a pineapple mango chutney over ahi tuna tacos. Never occurred to me to ask Chef if he was a Gilmore...but I made myself the go to guy for making that chutney!
